CHEER

Program Overview

The El Camino Jr. Eagles Cheer Program is a developmental cheerleading program designed to support athletes from a young age through their transition into high school cheer. Our program focuses on building strong fundamentals in sideline cheer, crowd engagement, and safe stunt progression, all within a fun, structured, and supportive environment.

For our youngest cheerleaders, the emphasis is on learning the basics of sideline cheer, including simple motions, chants, cheers, jumps, and age-appropriate stunts. These athletes learn how to cheer from the sidelines during games, support their team, and work together while building confidence, coordination, and school spirit. Instruction is positive, encouraging, and centered on safety.

As cheerleaders grow within the program, they are introduced to more advanced sideline cheer techniques, formations, and stunting skills. Older athletes focus on stunt execution, strength, timing, and teamwork, while continuing to develop performance skills, leadership, and responsibility. This progression helps prepare cheerleaders for the expectations of middle school and high school cheer programs.

Beyond cheer skills, the El Camino Jr. Eagles Cheer Program emphasizes sportsmanship, commitment, and pride in representing the Jr. Eagles organization. Cheerleaders are taught to support one another, respect coaches and officials, and represent their team with positive energy on and off the field.

Our mission is to provide a clear pathway from youth cheer to high school cheer by developing confident athletes who understand the fundamentals of sideline cheer, safe stunting, teamwork, and school spirit, while creating lasting friendships and positive experiences along the way.

The Cheer Program is organized by age to support skill growth, teamwork, and a positive experience:
